The advent of electronic transducers has been considered as a revolution of manufacturing of high-voltage electrical apparatus in the 21st century. It has won great popularity because of its digital output, network wiring, which makes the electricity grid much more safer, environmental friendly. Besides, it is good for the intelligence of the whole power distribution system.
There are some advantages of the electronic transducer compared with the traditional ones. First is that it has small signals instead of output of large power and it will reduce the weight to several kilograms due to its low power. Besides, the data sharing function will make the parallel wires connection out of the stage.
However, problems are still exist despite of those advantages. As electronic transducer has been changed the original mounting type, more advanced requirement has been promoted, for example, it must have the ability to fight against adverse weather conditions and irregular strong electromagnetic interference, it also have to have a reliable power mode and adapt outside surroundings. If proper measures are not taken, signals will be out of effect and aging.
The future development direction of the electronic transducers is going to passive. As it has technical advantage, single ECT sensor has the trend to be passive. Besides, standards have to be set in order to become more convenient. Therefore, commonality and exchangeability will be insured for different manufactures to exchange information for future use.
