As it boasts with energy saving, environmental protection and long life span, LED lighting has always been regarded as a perfect technology for the next lighting generation and has the trend to replace all the current lighting technology. For LED belongs to cold-light source and can not endure heat for a long time and in addition, 80% of electric power is transformed to heat , so correspondingly, measures must be taken to prevent heat dissipation. Although great progress was made in the LED lighting technology, it is rather difficult to solve the heat radiation problem. Therefore, it will become an obstacle in the popularization and development for LED lighting with the problem unsolved.
At present, the most confusing issue is the price problem. Much of the profits, though, has been obtained by manufactures, there is still space for price reduction. Thus, a standard must be established to insure that it is cheap enough for common people to afford and the whole society resources must be deployed properly in the entire LED lighting. Heat radiation problem is the main difficulty in the establishment process.
Heat radiation belongs to part of heat transmission, which had been studied for a long time, and it was a peak research time between the 1960s and 1970s. From that time, passion has reduced for there was an increasing reducing number of people who bent on this field and some English words have become rare in thermology area.
Reasons why the heat radiation of LED has been made complicated are: firstly, people who have knowledge of this kind are not willing to take part in this area and conductions will not be able to carried out; secondly, commercialization is becoming more and more obvious so that the technology can not be researched well.
