When Will the LED Lighting Age Come?

For a long time, LED has been a hot topic. For many years, manufacturers have entered the market and hold different views about its prospects. Besides, they do not want to miss the promising opportunity. 　

When will the LED lighting age will come on the earth? It depends on when the price of LED will reduce and how fast and how much it will reduce. When will the LED replace the traditional one determines the developmental speed of W/LM value. The current per W/LM value is as the same as the traditional one. If it can reach to the present price level of the energy saving lamps, the LED will have a share in the market.

It is predicted that the value of 150 LM/W will be commercial in at least two years and it needs more two years to achieve large-scale lighting. Furthermore, it needs at least five years for its popularity with the support by the price policies from the government. Viewing from the current situation, the lighting price is determined by the market which needs a process. Viewing from the time aspect, the industry needs large investment and it takes long to develop.

At present, it had better not make the LED lighting industry as a main part, for if it develops at the speed of 150 LM/W or more, the cost will not much higher than common ones.
