The mobile Internet in China now is stepping from the age of technical tools to entertainment and social networking. More Chinese prefer mobile over fixed-line phones as in the first quarter, 1.653 million fixed phone users gave up their fixed-line service. While mobile phone subscribers have risen to 890.27 million in the first quarter, with about 61.902 million people using 3G service. The number of broad band Internet users increased by 7.35 million to 133.69 million.
