With the rapid development of automotive electronic, new digital consumer electronic and medical care electronic, the new demand of MEM?and the innovations based on MEMS emerge recently. The different kind of new applications and technologies will bring MEMS will have new opportunity to the MEMS sensor.

MEMS was used in the automotive electronic industry at the earliest, which has been considered as the first application climax. The emergence of innovations makes MEMS become the largest application market. Its market scale has exceeded 1.5 billion US dollars, and the yearly growth rate is twenty percent. As the second climax, the MEMS has so many applications, including the sport detection, navigation data compensation, human-machine interface, power management, gyroscope, speed/distance counting and the other health care applications. Technology development is an important driving force of the MEMS industry. The integration of MEMS and digital chip brings great support to the MEMS market. Meanwhile, the MEMS oscillator, which is used by the clock generator, is a hotspot. The demand of portable electronic device is becoming higher and higher to the solution of clock generator. It becomes more possible that the MEMS oscillator will replace the quartz oscillator. A survey indicates that the market scale of the MEMS oscillator will increase from 8million US dollars to 645 million US dollars in the year of 2015.

The application of MEMS is very wide in the automotive industry, including the ABS, ESP, ECS, EPB, HAS, EPMS and so on. The electronic stability program is the newest application which is concerned by many manufacturers. Its active skid-resistance function needs more sensor and advanced processor, which makes the traditional application of MEMS shine again. The electronic stability program is a new road safety technology. Many countries and districts have made laws to install this system compulsively. Canada and American demanded all the new cars to install the electronic stability program from November of 2009; Korea and Japan also demanded that the new types of car should have this system from January of 2010. It is predicated that almost half of the automobiles will have this system in the year of 2015. The related integrated circuit is ZA2070.
