The world had witnessed how the movie ’Avatar’ and ’Alice in Wonderland’ made a huge splash. As a result, many global electronic giants Panasonic, Samsung, Philips, Toshiba, Sony and LG Electronics all released their 3D TV models onto the market last year and announced new ranges this year. What is 3D TV? The answer is it’s a television set that project three dimensional programs. 3D is a very powerful technology which has the ability to immerse people in a viewing experience and make the action pop from the screen. People may wonder, how long it still need to bring 3D TV into market? Experts predicted that this device still has a long way to reach families for there are some drawbacks exist.
The obvious disadvantage is that we must wear a glass to watch 3D TV. Glasses are an issue out of the consideration of cost and health. This problem is not going to be solved in the near future though some manufacturers promise to produce the true 3D TVs with no need for glasses over the next few years. Another weakness is the price, it’s not surprising that the prices of the first sets were astronomically high at first, and out the reach of many people. The room size is also a problem, as 3D TV requires large screen and dark environment which is not easy to achieve with a small room. Last but not least, some viewers have complained of headaches and visual problems after watching 3D TV and films and due to a variety of medical conditions many people can not see 3D pictures. All these shortcomings prevent 3D TV from reaching normal families in a short time.
In spite of these, some 3D fans just can’t wait to buy a 3D TV and enjoy it. Thanks to the rapid development of technology, some extra requirements for viewing 3D content are reducing in price. At the same time, people don’t have to worry about the lack of 3D channels as new networks are springing up. The related integrated circuit is KTS193, an 8-channel selector featuring a three-state output that can interface directly with data lines of bus-oriented systems and drive them.
