Tablet Drives Shipment of LED 3.5 Times

The hot seller Apple iPad spurred the population of tablet which accelerated the development and listing plan for manufacturers. The research firm LEDinside which owned by TrendForce said that the demand for LED application on tablet will be increasing with mean brightness higher 20 percent. With increasing of LED shipment, it was anticipated that the LED shipment will reach 1.3 billion in 2011 with 3.5 times increase than the previous year that is 380 million.

The tablet penetration which caused by iPad accelerated the tablet development and listing plan of the second half of 2010. In order to compete with iPad, many other tablet designs paid much attention to more powerful processor performance, larger storage space and open hardware and software support. Most firms attempt to take another road by combination with Google Android operating system platform.

For instance, Samsung released new tablet PC Galaxy Tab by integrating the group’s resources and taking advantages of good relation with telecom firms to do a good job in the area of Android. A Canada firm RIM which is well-known for BlackBerry is going to release new tablet as well called Playbook aiming to the market of business area. It is forecasted to be on the market in the second quarter of 2011. In addition, Acer plans to release new Android tablet which displayed in New York at the end of 2010 and is predicted on the market in March or April of 2011.

According to TrendForce, there will be dozens of new Android flat-panel devices and smart phone unveiled during the CES in 2011. TrendForce also anticipated that the total shipment of tablet PC is 15 million pieces in 2010 and there will be up to 50 million pieces in 2011 based on maturity of Android and better acceptance of the market.
