The sales of the display driving IC increase quickly in this year, which has turned the decline situation of the past years. But the prospects are not prosperous because of the immature techniques. The sales of the display driving IC reaches 6.5 billion in this year, which has increased fourteen percent when compared with the last year. Besides, the shipment has also increased eighteen percent. These two data shows the great bounce in this industry, but this period may become the highest point of the future times, especially the sales in fourth quarter is reducing. It is predicated that the sales of display driving IC will be 4.7 billion, which will be two-thirds of this year.

The DDIC provides the liquid crystal, OLED and plasma technology with the voltage and current driving signals, and can be used in the different kinds of display and panel. The large panel products have the widest application, such as the liquid crystal television and laptop computer. This component is also used in the products with small panel, such as cell phone, navigation device, media player, E-book and tablet computer. Although the large panel takes large ratio of the consumption and the shipment of liquid crystal panel is increasing, these can not ensure the stable expansion of this industry.

The panel will use the other techniques which are more energy saving, so the shipment of DDIC will be reduced. The liquid crystal panel will integrate many complicated semiconductor functions, and do not need the exterior chips. What is more, the stocks of the liquid crystal television panel and laptop computer panel are large, which will reduce the increasing speed of DDIC further. Moreover, the orders in this year’s holiday worried people. The order of the television and monitoring is reducing in the third quarter of Europe, so the order of the DDIC also reduced.
