Introduction Of MEMS

MEMS is short for the Miro-electro-Mechanical System, it is a science based on technologies of micro electronics and mechanism. MEMS combines the eletronic system and the outside world together. Not only can it feel movement, light, voice and heat so that can change them into information that electronic system will recgonize, but also can control these signals through electronic system to operate instructions to control executive components to wrok.

MEMS mainly contains components as follows: mirco sensor, executive and related treatment circuits. As input information, natural signal is converted into electric signal by these sensors, and then by signal processing, it can interact with the outside world by micro performers. On other hand, sensors can transform signals from one form to another and then realize the transformation between the real world and the electronic ones.

The development of MEMS has opened up a new way in technology area. Making use of it will reduce the producing cost in a large extent and will complete tasks that huge mechines cannot realize. A good example of chip is theADXL330 , it is a kind of the accelerometer which is small, thin and low power.
