Currently, the data center develops rapidly in financial, telecommunication and government industries. The centralized management of business is implemented by these industries, so customers are satisfied with their advanced service. Besides, the centralized storage and management of the data is also benefit to the safety. With the development of technology, the data center is no longer a single place to deposit and defend the server; it has become the gathering place of the high performance computer. Therefore, many IT manufacturers will change their single server to the group pattern. The virtualization, cloud computing and cloud storage are implemented based on the group pattern to improve the efficiency of the server. The center is connected by modules, which is more flexible and convenient.
All in all, the development direction of the data center is environmental protection, large scale and
high density. It is all known that the data center has high power consumption. The power consumption will increase in future two or three years with the rapid development, which will even exceed the cost of its construction. Therefore, reducing the power consumption is the responsibility of corporations.
A survey taken by American magazine "CIO" towards the IT managers show that responsibility and reducing the cost are two motivations of their advocation of green data center. Some positive corporations has began to build the infrastructures which is benefit to the environment, such as reducing the power consumption of server, training the user to turn off the device, updating the data center and so on. 63% of people say that their corporations are willing to keep the American recycling regulation. 61% of people express that their corporations do not have the statistical data of the Carbon Footprint. Only twenty percent of managers say that they are on the way of green data center, some policies have made by them. The related integrated circuit is OP01.
