Three Different Camps in LED Industry

LED is most hot topic in the electric field nowadays; take the MOCVD for example, the shipments of the device can reach six hundred and six sets, which is three times of the total last three years. The Chinese government can offer the subsidy up to fifty percent of the original cost; therefore, the principle winds the country a hot LED investment. In Europe, the production of this device is monopolized by two corporations in Germany and American. They are taking orders for two to three years out.

The LED market has had a great breakthrough from the latter half of 2009. On one hand, the ratio of LED back light which is used in the laptop computer was increasing; on the other hand, the ratio of LED back light which is used in the liquid crystal display was also increasing. With the improvement of brightness and the reduction of the price, the LED will have large potential in the illumination market. There are three large camps in the LED market. I will list the detail of them in the next part of the article.

The first camp is represented by Japan, Europe and America. Five LED magnates all over the world are included in this camp. This camp has the advanced technology and many patents. The enterprises have been devoting in this field for so many years. Their researching goal is automotive lighting. The Japanese enterprises also consider the LED backlight which is applied for the consumer electronics, while the enterprises do not care it.

The next camp is mainly in Korea and Taiwan. Manufacturers in this camp own a complete industrial chain of consumer electronics. They pay much attention on the backlight LED. There is a gap between their technology and the technology in Europe and America, but they are growing fast.

The last camp is in mainland of China. The manufacturers are small scare and disperse located. The technology is backward, so most manufacturers produce the yellow and green light LED which is utilized in the outdoor landscape, decoration and advertisement. However, people in mainland of China have the highest passion to invest in this field. The related integrated circuit is TC35080P.
