WHDI Technology Will Be Massively Adopted in Wireless Video

AMIMON corp., the market leader of wireless HDTV semiconductor solutions, claimed that due to increasing market demand of WHDI technology, many electronic manufacturers like ASUS, BOE, Galaxy, Malata, Panda Group, Winstar and 35.com, and many accessory manufacturers claimed that their new WHDI products have adopted AMIMON’s WHDI chip set. These companies have released various WHDI devices, such as embedded WHDI wireless HDTV, PC and TV adaptor, embedded WHDI panel PC and WHDI expanding fittings special for mobile phone. Meantime, the Chinese four major TV manufacturers including Changhong, Haier, Hisense and TCL have taken AMIMON’s WHDI technology for their products, and many of them have been on market, and more will at the beginning of this year.

As the continuous expanding of WHDI application, many leading devices manufactures such as Askey, Cameo, Foxconn, Gemtek, LG Innoted, Liteon, QMI, Zinwell and many others are providing modules and products based on WHDI technology. It is expected to be massively applied when combined with ODM and OEM system this year.

WHDI allows consumers to connect house devices to HDTV by means of wireless technology to play all videos and interactive programs including Internet content. So far, games, HD video and other segments consumers bought can be used in personal computer, panel PC and mobile phone and transmitted to TV. Devices complied with WHDI standard can be compatible with all equipments.


WHDI can transmit high quality full HD picture and 3D content. The feature of delay allows users to connect on HDTV by means of wireless method and to play games in PC and other portable devices. It has the features of low consumption, small size and is suitable for battery power supply portable devices.

WHDI has a leading position as wireless video standard. West Technology Research Solutions (WTRS), a well-known research firm, said in an industry report that WHDI technology occupies 70 percent market share of wireless video products, and the growth is expected to be 75 percent by 2015. The market prediction of AMIMON will be further intense due to these manufactures’ adoption.
