One can manage the business in LED industry easily, so a lot of people are engaged in LED lamp or LED lamp band. But there is large gap between brand products and copycatting in term of performance and quality. Some experienced fellows can distinguish high quality LED lamp band from low quality at their very first look. Well, let’s talk about how to judge the quality of LED lamp band.
First, check packing. Regular LED lamp band adopts static-free coil stock for packing, usually five meters or ten meters a single roll and static-free and moisture proof sealed package outside. While copycatting adopts recycled coil stock to lower the cost. In addition, it has no static-free and moisture proof sealed package outside. One can find evidence for removing labels on coil stock if he checks carefully.
Secondly, check labels. Regular lamp band sticks pressworking labels on package and coil stock while copycatting uses printer and not uniformed in specifications and parameters.
Thirdly, check attachments. In general, regular lamp band will be attached with attachments like instructions, specification sheets, connector or cassette. While in order to save cost, mock belt does not have such attachments.
Fourthly, check welding spot. Standard lamp belt adopts surface mounting technology which is so-called SMT using tin cream and reflow process. In this way, the welding spot will be much glossy and in circular arc shape. While as for copycatting, the tin cream is not well-distributed and appears sharp point on welding spot. That is a common phenomenon of manual welding.
Fifthly, check FPC quality. FPC can be divided as copper and rolled copper. Copper foil is embossed and the junction to FPC can be seen while rolled copper is linked to FPC as one.
Sixthly, check cleanliness on surface. The surface of LED belt will very clear if it takes SMT techniques. Otherwise, it will leave stain no matter how hard you wash. The related integrated circuit is MEL79D.
