GPS is the abbreviation of global positioning system which was first put forward at the Pentagon in 1973.It was used in the field of military by America at the very beginning but now GPS steps into people’s life as a guider and monitor to help people find their way in a strange place or protect the car or other possessions from destroying or stealing. It works by using a network of 24 to 32 earth satellites orbiting around the earth in medium orbit to provide positioning, navigation and timing services to users based on having no interrupt anywhere in the world that has a unobstructed view of four or more GPS satellites.

There are mainly two kinds of GPS devices. One is a device that is installed in the dashboard permanently and will not be in the way while look nicely, the other one is a portable device that can be taken away freely, which gives you more convenience when driving other’s car or need it for other usages. Of course，you can choose one in your need because they both have their own advantages. By using the GPS, you will no longer need a map or you will never be afraid of losing in a new place. It will tell you exactly where you destination is and guide you to reach there in the shortest route. Besides, it can give you guidance if you meet some emergencies and want to find a hospital, gas station, etc.

When choosing a GPS, you should also think about the size of GPS that whether it can be attached to your dashboard perfectly or not. And you can also select different types of control. Usually, most of GPS options are controlled by voice that you do not need stare closely at the screen because it is dangerous and are inconvenient. Nowadays, the development of GPS technology reaches a new high. GPS system now can even be used to track and protect children, houses or other possessions. It will give you signals once the target you have installed GPS appears any abnormal situation.

It is believed that with the development of GPS system, we will never be so nervous about car, children, house or other things being stolen, especially we will be relax when traveling to a strange place without a guider. We will never worry about all these things which we have before with a GPS. It is really a nice product!
